Meet the Team

Lynne Byrne, RDH

I have been at Downtown Dental Associates since 2001. I graduated from hygiene school in 1979 and am a native of Arizona. I have been blessed with a son, who is a veteran of the US Army and USMC, and a daughter, who is in college at Western Oregon University. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter, Brittney, and my "grand-dogger," Winnie, who is a Chihuahua. I volunteer my time as a Youth Group assistant, being a member of the Red Hat Society and planning class reunion events. My dad is a retired dentist and I have been working in a dental office since age 16. I have a love and passion for dentistry and the fantastic patients at DDA.

My favorite thing about working at Downtown Dental Associates is that our hygienists bring over 107 years of experience to this family-friendly practice. We have five hygienists who have graduated from hygiene schools from the West Coast across to Chapel Hill, NC. We provide quality care and genuine concern with the latest technology and products available.

Sydney Keister, RDH

I graduated from Oregon State University in 1996 with a B.S. in Public Health and then graduated from UNC in Chapel Hill, NC from the Dental Hygiene program in 2000. I then started with Downtown Dental Associates in the fall of 2002.

My duties include patient education, assisting in periodontal disease diagnosis, scaling and root planning procedures, adult prophy, periomaintenance, perio charting, taking x-rays, and sterilization. My favorite thing about dentistry is the relationships I build with my patients, have a stable routine schedule, working with my co-workers, and being able to work two days per week while having a 2-year-old daughter. The thing I like best about Downtown Dental Associates doctors is that they couldn’t be more pleasant to work with. They are all kind, have great personalities, and are highly skilled.

I’m a native of San Clemente, California. My family consists of my husband, Mike, and daughter, Kendall. In my free time, I like running, golfing, skiing, and working in real estate. I play in a women’s 9-hole golf group on Tuesdays. I love life. Every day is an adventure!

Kathy Parker, RDH

My duties include patient care, education, and supervising the Downtown Dental Associates hygiene department. I graduated from the OHSU Dental Hygiene Program and have been practicing dental hygiene for 36 years. My favorite thing about working at Downtown Dental Associates is having worked with Dr. Osterlind and Dr. Persichetti since 1987 and having the unique opportunity of establishing long-term relationships with my patients.

I am a native Oregonian and still live in my hometown of Canby, so I love to travel to broaden my world view. I also enjoy cycling, snowshoeing, collecting cookbooks, cooking (especially Italian), and spending time with my four adult children and husband, Bruce, who I have been married to one day longer than I have been a hygienist! A fun fact about me is that I ride a tandem recumbent bicycle with my husband.

Karen Ruth, RDH

I have been with Downtown Dental Associates since 1992. I enjoy working with patients of all ages in a progressive and preventive practice. The longevity of working at DDA has allowed me an ongoing relationship with patients, staff, and doctors, which I enjoy.

I am a native Oregonian originally from Eugene. I have been in Portland for 20 years. In my free time I enjoy hiking, gardening, and spending time with my delightful grandchildren. What you may not know about me is that I am a licensed massage therapist as well.

Toshia Stott, RDH

My duties include providing preventive oral hygiene care, treating periodontal disease, and educating patients about oral hygiene. I've been with Downtown Dental Associates since 2004. My favorite thing about dentistry is that every day I can do something to make a difference and help my patients. The thing I like best about working with the doctors of DDA is how much they care about their patients and the quality of the dentistry they practice.

I'm a native of Portland, Oregon. I have a husband and 3 beautiful children. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family, scrapbook, craft, and work with the children and youth of my church and learn new things. You might not know that I sometimes forget to floss too! Life can sure get busy sometimes, but I love every minute of it.
